During Hot August Nights, cars are “cherry” and cruisin’ is “cool”
It’s the largest classic car and nostalgic event in the country and encompasses the entire region! Restored hot rods and sexy muscle cars give enthusiasts a first-hand experience of popular decades done by. The festival will be packed with more than 5,000 classic vehicles to admire! Show-n-Shines, drag races, controlled cruises, concerts, a swap meet, sock hop, prom and classic car auction are just a few of the “cool” activities.
Entertainment Line-Up
An incredible array of entertainers from some of the greatest decades in music will perform. There are two primary official entertainment venues, Sparks Victorian Square and the Grand Sierra Resort, and all performances generally begin at 8:30pm. Many other entertainment options will take place throughout town as well. The detailed schedule of entertainment will be announced in Summer 2015.
Show-n-Shine Schedule
The Show-n-Shines are a beloved tradition of Hot August Nights and there plenty to chose from whether you’re a classic car owner interested in competing, or a spectator that wants to admire beautiful vehicles. There are show “n’ Shine competitions throughout Reno and Sparks and the detailed schedule will be announced in the summer. In the meantime, click here for the detailed 2014 schedule and locations.

The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™ comes to Reno to join the world’s premiere classic car and nostalgia festival. The Hot August Nights Auction Presented by Barrett-Jackson marks a historic partnership between two of the most recognized names in the classic and collector car industry. Not only will buyers be able to bid on and purchase from Barrett-Jackson’s famous selection of collector cars, but they can take them right from the auction block to the streets of Reno-Sparks to participate in one of Hot August Nights’ famous cruises or show-n-shines.

Hot August Nights and Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™, is upping the ante when it comes to Best in Show competitions. The Barrett-Jackson Cup Show-n-Shine takes place on 4th Street in downtown Reno. From Wed., Aug 5 through Fri., Aug. 7 (9am to 4pm), participants will be parked on 4th Street between Center and Sierra.
The top 25 qualifiers will receive a ribbon and an invitation to return on Sat., Aug 8 for the finals to be staged in the Downtown Reno Ballroom. The Top Five also known as “The Reno 5” will be selected and escorted to the Hot August Nights Auction presented by Barrett-Jackson located at the Convention Center. The runners up will display their vehicles on the auction block, where the winner of the coveted Barrett-Jackson Cup™ will be revealed on National TV at 8pm.
AutoCross (tentative schedule)

If you have never autocrossed your hotrod before, this is a great way to see what your car is made of, improve your driving skills and better your times. This FREE timed event will give you an adrenaline rush as you run a course through cones set up in a series. This course is designed for novice autocrossers and is meant to be fun and exciting. Open to all 2015 Hot August Nights registered car participants only. Prizes will be awarded to the “best times” and will be posted daily on www.americanstreetcarseries.com, click on “live timing/results” in left hand corner of the American Street Car Series to see where you rank. Autocross included with Swap Meet Admission fee of $6.00 daily.
The Hot August Nights Automotive Swap Meet & Nostalgia Fair (tentative schedule)

Inside the huge air conditioned 70,000 square foot Reno-Sparks Livestock Events Center’s main events building, attendees will find vendors crafts, services, food/beverage and nostalgia items. On display on the fully carpeted arena floor, will be what has been called the Best Indoor Car Show in Nevada with over 110 beautiful Collector Vehicles on display and they’re all available to be taken home by a new owner! This event features pre-1976 automotive parts, services and nostalgic items offered for sale by well over 700 vendors in 1500+ outdoor spaces as well as 250 covered spaces. Swap meet attendees will also see well over 400 Collector Vehicles offered “For Sale” in the outdoor car corral that is adjacent to the swap area.
